Nayab Singh Saini chosen Haryana BJP Legislative Party leader day before oath

Nayab Singh Saini was on Wednesday chosen as leader of the Haryana BJP Legislative Party ahead of taking oath tomorrow as the state’s Chief Minister for a second time.
A ceremony took place at the BJP office in Panchkula to choose the new legislative party leader, with the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav as central observers. Also in attendance were Saini’s predecessor and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, BJP’s election in-charge for Haryana Dharmendra Pradhan and co-incharge for the state Biplab Deb.
On his part, Saini thanked the people of Haryana for “putting their faith in the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and forming a BJP government for a historic third time” in the state.
“The people have resolved to carry forward the vision of Prime Minister Modi towards making a developed India by 2047,” he said.
Despite exit poll predictions, the BJP scripted a turnaround in Haryana and ended up with its best-ever haul of 48 of 90 Assembly seats. The Congress, which was eyeing a comeback, finished with 37 seats.
The two parties had contested all the 90 Assembly seats.
This is the first time in history that a party has come to power for a third consecutive term in Haryana.
